Iron is a vital element for the proper plant growth and development. This element plays a critical role in chlorophyll production and photosynthesis. Fe element deficiencies in plants interrupt chlorophyll production process and causes chlorotic leaves. The plant roots take up the chelated nutrient and the chelate releases the nutrient within the plant. Furthermore, EDTA is the most common synthetic chelating agent and is used for both soil and foliar applied nutrients.
